And this concludes the Doctor Doctor! story arc.

I was reading over my notes on this arc and I was not liking how things were turning out. It was a lot of monotonous bull crap that I didn’t want to go over again again. It was this time a week ago that I started to write a new script that would close the story arc sooner then planned and I could move on. Well, it’s finally come in the form of Violet getting really upset at how she was being treated and storming out of the office. It may not be the funniest comic in the world but it ties up some loose ends that I was done dealing with. FYI – My original plan had them going back to the doctor a few more times before Desmon gets sick of things and pushes the move on. It was basically the same story over and over and over again. Anna needs to gain weight, I want to test stuff, you’re horrible parents. Bla bla bla.

You have to be at least 16-years-old for this tour. The tour lasts about 4 hours or so and is about $70 on top of park admission. Sure, you can see most of the stuff covered on this tour by watching specials on the Travel Channel. However, if you’re a Disney freak like I am, there’s simply no comparison to seeing it in person. My favorite part – the “underworld.” There’s so much that goes on behind, er, under the scenes that you have to see it to believe it!

These pavilions have kiosks that feature local adult beverages and, sometimes, small snacks. You can literally spend an entire day drinking around the world at Epcot. 3. For the romantic: IllumiNations

This fireworks spectacular takes place every night at closing. It takes place on the lake in the center of the World Showcase. While there are places to see it all around the lake, there are some places that are downright horrible. The better places start to fill up early, so plan accordingly. The China and Germany pavilions recently had changes to the areas overlooking the lake, and make for great viewing.

4. For kids: Jedi Training Academy

If you have a young Star Wars fan in your family, this is a must-do! My son will never, ever forget his experience. The Jedi Master teaches his small group of Padawans the ways of the Force. Participants actually feel like Padawans in their brown robes as they wield lightsabers. The most blood-pumping part of the experience is when the Storm Troppers & Vader arrive. Too cool for words.

5. For the aspiring artists: Magic of Disney Animation

While the short movie on how animation is made is well done, the best part is what follows. There is a place to meet characters. Usually the latest or upcoming movie is featured here. Also, Fantasia Mickey is featured here. There are areas to try your hand at coloring a scene, or adding sounds to an animated scene. The cool part is the area where you can learn to draw a Disney character. Often it is one of the Fab Five. The very cool part is that you can keep your drawing. The really very cool part is this is free. And you can come back several times. Perfect for all ages.

Part 2!

This is the second part of the “When Life Opens A Gate” mini arc (for reals mini, as in 2 parts). This little comic was originally scripted at 1 but I wanted to pull out the suspense just a little. Poor Violet in panel 3, she’s paralyzed with fear and then that moment of relief in panel 4. That’s honestly one of my favorite Violet’s I’ve ever drawn.

So my question for you readers is….

Have you ever lost something that was incredibly important to you? How did it make you feel? Did you ever find it?

Your answer doesn’t have to be your kids. Could be a favorite shirt, family watch handed down through generations or just your lunch. Man, I hate losing stuff!

Oh no! Violet, Desmon and Anna just got back from a nice relaxing weekend and things are already shot to hell. Man, life is tough in Glinda’s house. Make sure to come back Wednesday for part 2 of “When Life Opens A Gate”.

Diane is still rocking the coloring and has allowed me to draw out the rest of this weeks comic. That’s right, I have a buffer right now. It’s a small one (and without Diane, will go away very quickly), but it’s still there. She’s also forcing me to evaluate how I color and code things. I use a 3 tier system of characters, objects and background. To me, it’s a simple process. But when I’m forced to say it out loud to her, it fully exposes all the color/design flaws. So yeah, we may struggle for a bit while I figure out how to explain what I’m thinking (read: never going to work extreme hard) and she finds the groove of Plus One. Between you and me, I fully expect her to just take over the color process. In a few weeks, she’ll be rocking it so good I won’t even have to touch up the colors.

In other news, I wrote a short little blog about National Alpaca Farm Days. Did you check it out? I know it’s kind of my fault for not reminding you guys about it on Friday. My family went and we had a blast, but you can read more in the blog.

We found an Alpaca farm not to far from out house and met up with another little boy and his father there. The farm was huge and sported over 100 alpacas along with chickens, horses, koi and canaries. We spend most of the time with the alpacas and my daughter loved it. Granted, she did get cranky a few times and tried to make a break for the electrified fence, but we caught her in time.

While we were there we came across two females that loved kids. They let my daughter and her friend pet them with out fear. Even when they got cranky and started to shout a little to loudly, they just raised to their heads as if to say, “why you yelling little one? Be cool.”

Overall we had a great time. The owners were really nice and actually invited us back anytime to enjoy the farm. You could really tell that she loved her home and the animals that she was raising. Not going to lie, we’re probably going to go back sometime and say hi to the animals again.

Yeah, that’s right. 300 comics of Plus One and I’m still going strong. To celebrate the occasion, I put together this little piece of art. I hope you like it.

Also, I hope you really like the sunset in today’s comic. I bring it up because I didn’t actually color it. Diane, my fiance and the best woman in the world, has stepped into help me get the coloring done on comics for a bit. She’s a really kick ass colorist if you ask me. Our goal is to work together until I have a 2 week buffer and can work with in my means for a while. Basically, we’re both tired of me going to bed between midnight and 1am.

Thank you Diane. I love you and you’re the most amazing woman in the world!

I’m glad to finally be drawing so many smiles on the family, it seems like all I’ve been doing lately is doom and gloom. I know that while I was working on this, I couldn’t help but smile myself. There is something about those little buggers that spreads like wildfire. Smiles, pass it on.

I also feel like I did a really good job on this comic. Well, almost “a really good job”. I’m still not liking how Anna looks in panel 5 as she’s eating the sand. It started out way worse but I’m still not happy with the end result.

I am in love with panel 6 though. I love the way the image bleeds out with the water color effect. For those of you who didn’t see it, I did something similar to this in my Sinestro piece from a few weeks ago.

Hey everyone, did you have a good weekend? Can you believe that September is almost over already? Eeeshh…

Today’s comic was a fun one to make. I don’t know about you but my daughter seems to fall asleep 5 minutes before we get there on long road trips. I don’t know how she does it but it’s an amazing talent. I’m not sure how she can make money from it later in life, but I smell an honest and rewarding career ahead of her.

I just wanted to let you know that I spent the better part of my evening between my drawing table and the bathroom. I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I wasn’t doing to good last night.
